Pilgrimage
Story
Pilgrimage reflects my experience of being held down beneath the surface of the rapids, cold and alone with no hope. While viewing the image a Jewish woman mentioned that young men and women dress in black and purple robes and make annual pilgrimages to concentration camps in Germany. So, pilgrimage it was. A Christian took in the painting and shared her interpretation: Those gathered at the foot of the cross after Christ’s crucifixion. Pilgrimage evokes strong responses in the observers, including a stampede from a Bostonian. What is revealed?
Verse
"Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage." Psalm 84:5
