College

Probably because Emily was raised in a college town (Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio), a love of learning was embedded in her.

A searching mind took her:

to Lindenwood College in St. Louis, MO where she participated in her first drawing course,

to Albion College in Albion, MI earning a BA Degree, with a major in Studio Art,

to Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti, MI where she discovered her love of watercolor to The University of Houston, in Houston, TX earning a Master of Social Work.

As a Clinician she was privileged to be present with people in their suffering, in their struggling, in their hope and in their healing.  Liberal Arts through Clinical Social Work all worked together to build in her a searching soul and willingness to explore visually the emotional aspects of painting, both in the process and in the completed work.
